Float Therapy

Flotation-REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) is a complementary and alternative medicine therapy with evidence-based beneficial effects like pain and stress reduction.

The water in a sensory deprivation tank is heated to skin temperature and nearly saturated with Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate), providing buoyancy so you float easily.

Typically, ten inches of body temperature water and approximately 1,000 lbs of Epsom salts are used in either a flotation pod or room. As you enter the room, remove clothing (bathing suit optional) and enter the body temperature water. Laying down in the water, you will find yourself immediately floating, buoyantly with no sensation of sinking. There is usually the option of listening to music and low lighting, but in order to fully experience the sensory deprivation, turn off the lights and sound and immerse yourself into the experience.

After a Float Therapy session, the water and salt are put through a filtration system to remove particulates, disinfect, kill viruses and biological contaminants. Employees clean and disinfect the room and the inside of tanks prior to refilling for the next session.

Float Therapy

Clinical research investigating Floatation-REST, although limited, has reported largely beneficial effects across a range of different stress-related conditions, including hypertension [14, 16], chronic tension headaches [22, 23], chronic muscle tension pain in the back and neck [24], and stress-related pain with “burnout depression”

Helps with Anxiety: A 2018 Study showed that a single one-hour session in a sensory deprivation tank was capable of a significant reduction in anxiety and improvement in mood in the 50 participants with stress and anxiety-related disorders.
